Can I Use My Cellular Telephone in Costa Rica?
YES.
Many of our customers prefer to use their own cellular telephone in Costa Rica. And many brands and models using the GSM and 3G technology can connect well with the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) - Costa Rican cellular network.  And we do our best to accommodate when possible.

What Type of Phones Do You Rent?
We prefer to use NOKIA telephones for dependability and durability.  Each Rental Phone is tested and the battery is charged prior to delivery. Click here to view phones.

Can I SMS Text Message To The United States and Other Countries?
YES.  Customers can SMS text message to the United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Panama with unlimited FREE use. Click here here for details.

Will I know My Rental Phone Number Before Arriving?
YES.  We assign you a telephone number once the reservation is complete. And confirmation email is sent to you that includes the phone number you will be using in Costa Rica.

Is There a Minimum Usage Charge?
NO.  We do not charge for a minimum usage.

What Are Your Per Minute Rates?
We do not charge per minute for local calls made and received. Nor is there a charge for any international calls you receive. Our only per minute charge is for international calls you place. See rates.

What Happens If I Have Problems With The Rental Cellular Phone?
This very seldom happens, but should you have a problem with your Rental Cellular Phone, we are there to help. In most cases the problems are minor, but, in any event, we immediately exchange the Phone.  See our customer support section for more details on problems and lost or stolen rental phones.

Do I Get Voicemail?
YES.  Voicemail is include free of charge with our service. Instructions on accessing your voicemail is provided at the time of delivery of your rental phone or SIM card.

Do I Get Caller ID?
YES.  Our service includes Caller ID at no extra charge. Some phones in Costa Rica are private and the Caller ID will not display. Many calls from outside Costa Rica are also private and no number is displayed.

Do I Get Call Waiting?
YES.  All Rentals Phones feature call waiting at no extra charge.

I Am Arriving At the Liberia Airport. Can I Get A Phone There?
YES and NO. At this time we do not have service at the Liberia - Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIB).  However, we can arrange for delivery of your rental phone to Guanacaste area hotels.

Will I Be Able to Use My Rental Cellular Phone Anywhere in Costa Rica?
YES and NO. Cellular telephone service in Costa Rica is provided by the state owned monopoly on telecommunications, the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE). All cellular telephones in Costa Rica, including those of our competitors, are connected to this network and service totally depends on that. We cannot make any guarantees or promises. Having said, ICE claims cellular coverage is in 95% of the national territory. Certain areas have weak to no coverage, but those areas are few.

What Happens if I Lose or Damage the Rental Phone?
If you should lose the rental phone, sim card or data card, unfortunately you will have to pay for it. Our charge for the loss or total damage for the lost equipment is limited (limit is included in our rate schedule). In the event the equipment is damaged and may be repairable, we will only charge you our cost to effect the repairs.

What Do I Do If I Lose the Rental Phone or SIM or Data Card?
In the case you lose the Rental Phone or SIM Card or Data Car you should call the number given to you on delivery and make your report. The service will be immediately suspended and we will get a new Rental Phone or SIM card or Data Card out to you, usually within the hour -- longer if you want to keep the same phone number. You will be responsible for all international calls made from the Rental Phone or SIM Card up to the time we receive your report.

Do You Have Loss or Damage Insurance?
NO. Sorry, there no insurance coverage is available for loss or damage of the Rental Phone, SIM Card or Data Card.

What Does the Deposit Cover?
The deposit is our security for any loss or damage to the Rental Phone, SIM Card or Data Card and any and all international calls made during the rental period.

Can I Get An Itemized Statement for My International Calls?
YES.
Normally we provide a summary report of all international minutes used and the total charges. However, on request, we can provide an itemized statement that include all minutes used, destination of calls and cost.

Do You Deliver at The Airport?
YES. Our friendly staff will meet your flight on arrival at the Juan Santamaría International airport (SJO) in San José.  This service is free of charge.

Can I Get A Rental Phone in Guanacaste?
YES. Only with prior arrangement for you take delivery at your hotel serviced by DHL and provided you take responsibility for the return of the rental phone to us in San José. The cost of delivery, usually us$5 to $10 is added and the cost of lost phone replacement will be charged if you fail to return the phone.

How Do I Return the Rental Phone?
We will arrange for the pick up of your Rental Phone, SIM Card or Data Card at your hotel or the San José airport at no additional charge. Also, at major hotels, we can arrange for you to leave the Rental Phone with the reception desk and we will pick up later in the day. The major hotels have a registration system and the Rental Phone is logged in with a time stamp. We have not lost a Rental Phone yet in that way.

Do You Always Have Cell Phones Available To Rent?
YES.  We have sufficient stock of Rental Phones to meet every type of demand and in all seasons, however, we do recommend a prior reservation.

Is the Display on the Rental Phone in English or in Spanish?
All our Rental Phones are programmed for English. We can, however, reprogram the Rental Phone for other languages.

Is My Voice Mail Box in English or Spanish?
Sorry, the local telephone company and sole provider of cellular service in Costa Rica now only provides their voicemail in Spanish. You can, however, leave your personal message, however, the voicemail prompts are in Spanish only.

What Happens if I Get or Dial a Wrong Number?
Wrong numbers occur frequently from those who misdialed or from a previous user. There is no charge for any and all calls coming into your Rental Phone. There is a charge, however, if you happen to dial the wrong international destination number. To avoid excess charges in the event of a improperly dialed number, hang up immediately, and you will be charged the minimum one minute default by the telephone company.

Why Can't I Get Cellular Service From the Telephone Company?
In Costa Rica only Legal residents - those in possession of a residency cedula  - and citizens can obtain cellular telephone company.  If you are NOT a legal resident you cannot subscribe to cellular service from the  telephone company.
